financial accountability

We believe that transparency builds trust.

Every contribution represents hope for a girl’s future—and we are committed to managing those resources with integrity, efficiency, and full accountability.

Independent Oversight

All financial records are maintained in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards and are verified annually by an independent Certified Public Accountant (CPA) firm).

External Audit Compliance

When our annual income exceeds $750,000 USD, we will conduct a full external audit as required by Minnesota law. Until then, an independent CPA review will be performed each year to ensure accuracy and accountability.

Transparent Reporting to Donors

We value openness with every supporter.

  • A financial statement is available upon request to any donor who has contributed $1,000 or more within the past 12 months.

  • An Annual Financial Summary showing income sources, program expenditures, and administrative costs will be published publicly each year.

Accountability with Partner Organizations

Our partners in South Asia are required to:

  • Maintain financial records through their own independent CPA firm.

  • Provide an annual audit certificate verifying the proper use of funds.

  • Grant Azaadi access to expenditure records for all funds received through U.S. donations.

Our Ongoing Commitment

We are committed to:

  • Keeping administrative and fundraising expenses below 5% of total expenditures.

  • Conducting periodic financial reviews by the Board or its Finance Committee.

  • Upholding integrity and transparency in every financial decision.

  • Ensuring that funds are used exclusively for their designated purpose.

  • Maintaining a volunteer-based Board, with no members receiving compensation

  • Continue to update safeguards and policies to meet highest possible standards of financial and ethical integrity.

Transparent. Accountable. Purposeful. Integrity in Every Dollar
